Brush 9

Brush 9 is a 2009 Polaris Ranger 6x6 700 EFI. The cab has a windshield and roof with four spotlights and four emergency lights. A mobile radio allows communication to incident command and other fire ground crews. The back portion, made by Davis Welding, has an eighty gallon water tank with a foam tank and eductor. A Honda GX 160 engine drives a Davey pump and three, preconnected, variable gallon-per-minute nozzles. One line is made to come off of the passenger side with a short hose so it can be operated while sitting in the passenger seat. A platform (above the pump and water tank) with a stokes basket and backboard that fold in half for storage make hauling a patient on the back possible. A small storage compartment houses a chainsaw and it’s fuel and tools in case a path needs to be made to access a certain area. A portable winch has receptacles on the front and back and can be controlled from the cab.
